In short
- The treatment combines larvicide in standing water, a residual spray on resting surfaces and thermal fogging outdoors.
- Control lasts longest in closed areas. In open areas mosquitoes fly in from the surroundings, so this service does not carry a warranty.
- The property is vacated during fogging, and treated rooms stay closed for 3 to 4 hours.
- The inspection is free, and you receive a written quote before any work starts.
The mosquitoes you are dealing with in Karachi
Three kinds of mosquito matter in the city. They bite at different times and breed in different water, which is why one method does not deal with all of them.
| Mosquito | What it spreads | When it bites | Where it breeds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aedes | Dengue and chikungunya | During the day, mostly early morning and before sunset | Clean standing water: uncovered tanks, buckets, coolers, plant pots and old tyres |
| Anopheles | Malaria | At night | Clean, still water: overhead tanks, wells, puddles and construction sites |
| Culex | Mainly a nuisance biter | At night | Dirty water: open drains, gutters and sewage |
How we treat mosquitoes
A mosquito spends the first part of its life in water and the rest in the air. The treatment covers both.
- InspectionThe technician walks the property and finds where mosquitoes are breeding and resting: tanks, drains, plant pots, shaded walls and garden corners.
- Larvicide in standing waterWater that cannot be emptied, such as drains and sumps, is treated with a WHO-approved larvicide that kills the larvae before they can fly.
- Residual sprayA residual insecticide is applied to the walls and shaded surfaces where adult mosquitoes rest. It keeps working after it dries.
- Thermal foggingA fog is released across gardens, car parks and other outdoor areas to knock down the adult mosquitoes that are flying at the time.
- CertificateYou receive a signed certificate on the day of treatment.
Why fogging alone is not enough
Fog kills the adult mosquitoes it touches and then disperses. The eggs and larvae in standing water are untouched, and new adults emerge within days. That is why we treat the breeding water and the resting surfaces as well.
The products are named on our chemicals page.
How long the control lasts
It depends on the area. In closed areas, such as rooms, stores and enclosed car parks, the residual spray keeps working and the control lasts. In open areas, such as gardens, lawns and streets, mosquitoes fly in from the surroundings, and no treatment can hold them back for long.
For that reason mosquito control does not carry a warranty. The warranty page lists the services that do.
Mosquito control for homes and businesses
For homes
Flats, houses and bungalows. In flats the usual sources are uncovered water tanks, balcony plant pots and air-conditioner drip trays. Houses with gardens add drains, lawns and shaded walls.
- Treated rooms closed for 3 to 4 hours
- Odourless (be-bu) products on request
- Free inspection before any work
For businesses
Housing societies, schools, hospitals, restaurants with outdoor seating, factories and warehouses. Large sites need regular treatment through the monsoon, not a single visit.
- Monthly, quarterly or annual contracts
- Visits outside working hours
- Fumigation certificate after each visit
Before and after the visit
Before
- Put food, crockery and utensils away, and cover drinking-water containers.
- Cover aquariums and fish ponds tightly. The insecticides used are highly toxic to fish.
- Move pets, bird cages and pet bowls away from the areas being treated.
- Tell us if anyone in the home is pregnant, has asthma or allergies, or if there is a newborn.
After
- Stay out of the property during fogging, and keep treated rooms closed for 3 to 4 hours.
- Open the windows and run the fans when you return.
- Wipe kitchen counters and other food-contact surfaces before you use them.
What you can do between visits
A treatment lasts longer when the breeding water is kept away.
- Empty and scrub buckets, coolers and plant-pot saucers once a week.
- Keep water tanks covered, and have them cleaned every six months. See water tank cleaning.
- Clear gutters and drains so that water does not stand in them.
- Empty air-conditioner drip trays and change the water in vases.
- Fit screens on windows, and use nets or repellent when mosquitoes are active.

When to book mosquito control in Karachi
Mosquito numbers in Karachi rise with the monsoon, roughly from July to November, and dengue cases usually increase after the rains, when standing water is everywhere. The best time to treat is before the rains begin, and again after them.
We cover all of Karachi.
If someone has a fever
Mosquito control lowers the risk of dengue and malaria. It does not treat them. If anyone in the home has a high fever during the mosquito season, see a doctor without delay.
Questions about mosquito control
How long does mosquito fogging last?
Fogging kills the adult mosquitoes present at the time and has no lasting effect once the fog clears. The residual spray and the larvicide are what keep working afterwards.
Is there a warranty on mosquito control?
No. Mosquitoes are flying insects, and in open areas they return from the surroundings. Closed areas stay controlled for longer, but we do not promise a fixed period.
Is fogging safe for children and pets?
The property is vacated during fogging, and treated rooms stay closed for 3 to 4 hours. Cover aquariums and fish ponds before the visit. The products and precautions are set out on the chemicals page.
Does this treatment work against dengue mosquitoes?
Yes. The dengue mosquito breeds in clean standing water and bites during the day, so the treatment includes larvicide in water that cannot be emptied, and the technician shows you which containers to empty.
How much does mosquito control cost in Karachi?
It depends on the size of the property and the areas to be treated. Typical rates are on the service charges page, and the inspection is free.
Do you issue a fumigation certificate?
Yes. A signed certificate is issued on the day of treatment.
